Ubuntu, how-to October 25, 2005

At present I have switched from Fedora Core to Ubuntu. I have just found a very good tutorial for novice users on how to get Ubuntu up and running on a box. I found this distro was super easy for me in my experience, however, other’s mileage may vary. I changed a few of the security issues around for my liking such as allowing root login and some of the sudo settings. Upgrade from Hoary to Badger was easy as pie.
I also found adding extra repositories made getting mp3’s and other multimedia codecs working a snap. My only complaint about Ubuntu is the brown & orange theme but that is easily changed
.
Check out this tutorial.
